'China - a lasting impression'

Following a history of over 5000 years, China's importance continues to grow as it emerges as an economic superpower of the 21st century.

Change is the new constancy in China. And the speed of change in China is breath-taking.  New construction projects continue 24 hours a day, every day, and the continual movement of people and industries can only be wondered at by the occasional visitor.

China is a vast land that inspires and fascinates with its historic sights, diverse landscapes and rich culture. Yet beyond these great wonders, the most enduring memory is often the charm of its people.

China is a country that leaves a lasting impression . . .

'A Real Celebration . . .'

This book is a record of a special celebration - the 10th Anniversary of the High Kelling Short Mat Bowls Club in North Norfolk.

The day had been months in preparation and I was asked to record the events of the day. The resulting pics revealed both the character and warmth of the participants which then quickly grew into this book charting the history of the club together with some of the significant memories created along the way and became a fitting memento of a memorable day..

'Playgroup' - a journey through digital photography

Why 'Playgroup' you ask? That's simple - my family always refer to my photographic absences with the refrain, "He's gone to 'Playgroup'!".  I know . . .

It can be previewed here: https://www.blurb.co.uk/b/10334723-playgroup-a-journey-through-digital-photography

This book contains my contributions to some of the DPG topics that I have most enjoyed.

I hope you'll like them too and they give an insight as to how we can all be encouraged to create pictures that may inspire, surprise or even enthral you.

If they do, I will be well pleased and thank you.

DPG - 2021

As we begin 2021, meetings are not possible and it is uncertain when they will re-start. So we have devised a programme for the first 6 months, based on members contributing to the Viewing Platform on the chosen subjects.

Full details are here: www.dpg-vp.weebly.com

There are links also to the basic photography course by Chris Bray that we ran last year and other useful contacts and links.

PORTFOLIO develops different themes and ideas - your feedback will be most welcome.

Stories of a devasting fire in Devon, the Wells 'Lifeboat Horse' and a visit to London's 'Winter Wonderland' are the first three. Watch out for more to come . . .

U3A DPG - 2021

Just before the first dreaded Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020, we did manage to squeeze in a visit to Fakenham Races. It was Friday the 13th so most of us refrained from gambling, preferring to concentrate on the photo opportunities. Here's mine: Fakenham Races

Since then, we've been restricted to 'virtual' meetings and to this end you can find all that we're getting up to on on our Viewing Platform, www.dpg-vp.weebly.com

I hope you enjoy the experience.
